City Parks Department officials and community leaders around Middle Village were searching for vandals who destroyed 12 newly planted trees in Juniper Valley Park over the weekend. Comment.

Drunk driver sentenced for killing cabbie, Astoria woman

A 25-year-old Long Island man has been sentenced to 3 1/2 years to 10 1/2 years in prison for driving drunk and crashing into a livery cab in Astoria in November, killing a 30-year-old Cypriot woman from the neighborhood as well as the cab’s driver, the Queens district attorney said. Comment.
