Work to close one lane in both directions on Cross Bay

For the rest of the summer, one lane will be closed in each direction most Saturdays on the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge for work related to the $17 million project to rehabilitate the concrete piers beneath the bridge. Comments (1)

Comrie wants dollar vans in boro taxi plan

City Councilmen Leroy Comrie (D-St. Albans) and Jumaane Williams (D-Brooklyn) gathered with commuter van driver-owners from both boroughs near Jamaica Center Tuesday, calling on the commissioner of the city Taxi & Limousine Commission to grandfather the commuter van companies into the outer-borough taxi street-hail plan.
