City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Sunnyside) called for the city Department of Transportation to do a traffic safety study of Thomson Avenue last week in light of a car crash that killed a 16-year-old boy and injured four LaGuardia Community College students. Comment

LIRR derailment to affect rush hour travel for the week

The Long Island Rail Road said Tuesday it would cancel seven and divert one of the 128 trains it normally provides in the afternoon and evening rush hour because of track damage caused by a derailment Monday night west of the Forest Hills station in Queens. Comment
