Three Queens institutions, all based in Astoria or Long Island City, were among 820 recipients of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts for 2000.
Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City received $20,000 to support its Outdoor Studio Program, through which artists create their sculptures in the park itself, allowing the public to view the creative process.
