The Civic Scene: Civic newsletters provide useful information

Car storage without license plates on residential property is a violation of the zoning code, says the Queens Braddock Civic Association in its October 1999 newsletter. This is considered dead storage and is only permitted in commercially zoned areas. Report violations to the Department of Buildings or your local community board.

When your recycling pickup day falls on a holiday, there will not be a collection day that week, but recycling will be picked up on the next recycling collection day the following week, writes the editor of the Villager of the Middle Village Property Owners/Residents Association, Inc. in that group
