U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-Jackson Heights) told student council presidents from Queens high schools he planned to introduce legislation for a student bill of rights that would include a classroom seat for every student, safe passage to and from school, up-to-date textbooks and well-prepared teachers.
The more than 50 students leaders of the Queens Superintendent Student Advisory Council, which discusses issues and concerns affecting students and schools, talked to Crowley last Thursday at the Board of Education
