Our History: Flag Day honors

Flag Day, which we commemorate on June 14, though not a legal holiday, is significant since it is the anniversary of the adoption of our American flag.

At one time or another in the course of our early history, various flags were unfurled, but it was not until June 14, 1777 that Congress, sitting in Philadelphia, adopted a resolution declaring,
