Mike Torres had one thing on his mind with his Midville Dodgers trailing the Long Island Cardinals 7-2 in the fifth inning.
In the dugout he said his team needed to repeat what the New York Yankees did against Philadelphia on Sunday, which was come back from a five-run deficit in the ninth inning against the Phillies and stir another rally in extra innings to finally win, 9-8.
Good thing Torres, along with his team, reinforced that notion. Trailing by three runs in the seventh inning the Dodgers rallied for four runs to defeat the Cardinals, 8-7 in a battle between junior teams (15 & 16 year olds) on Monday evening at Juniper Park in Middle Village.
