While most professional baseball players take the news of a demotion as a negative, Alexis Rios understood it was nothing personal.
As a 19-year-old in his second year of professional baseball, Rios saw his move from Single A Hagerstown to Queens as a positive. According to Queens Kings coach Jorge Rivera, just about all of the younger players in the organization have been sent down.
Besides, an injury to his right arm and soreness in his left arm left the 19-year-old to only be used as a designated hitter.
