Through July 16 of this year, overall crime in the 114th Precinct fell by 7.5 percent from the same period last year, said Police Officer Valerie St. Rose, a police department spokeswoman.
The 114th Precinct covers parts of western Queens, including Astoria, Long Island City, Ditmars and Steinway.
