Some residents and business owners along a portion of 39th Avenue in Long Island City had to evacuate their buildings last Wednesday when a suspicious package containing a white powder with a note describing it as a nerve gas arrived by mail at the offices of a weekly Bangladeshi newspaper.
Abu Taher, executive editor of the local newspaper, Bangla Patrika, at 29-11 39th Ave., said the Health Department called him Tuesday morning to notify him that the envelope
