FLUSHING A 32-year old Asian woman was found dead inside her downtown Flushing apartment early Saturday morning, police said.
Li Gou, who lived in Apt. 2B of 41-81 Frame Place, possibly was strangled, police said.
Early Monday morning, police arrested Dunyu Yang, 37, of the same building address in the incident.
They would not disclose the charges, any possible motive, or whether the suspect lived in the same apartment.
Gunman robs bank on Northern Boulevard
BAYSIDE A gunman stole $3,000 from a bank in Bayside Saturday, police said.
The robbery took place at about 11:20 a.m. at the Greenpoint Bank at 211-11 Northern Blvd., police said. The man threatened a bank teller with a gun while demanding the cash, police said.
The robber fled with $3,000, police said. No one was injured.
Police were investigating.
111th Precinct Council to meet Tuesday night
BAYSIDE The 111th Precinct Community Council is to hold its monthly meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the precinct.
The 111th Precinct is at Northern Boulevard and 215th Street in Bayside. The precinct includes the communities of Bayside, Little Neck, Douglaston, Oakland Gardens, Hollis Hills and parts of Fresh Meadows, Flushing and Auburndale.
S. Jamaica man, 20, charged in shooting
SOUTH JAMAICA A man was arrested last week and charged with shooting another man in South Jamaica in a dispute, police said.
The suspect, Lorenzo Thornton, 20, of 142-21 Sutter Ave., was arrested Sept. 19 at about 11:30 p.m. for allegedly shooting another man, 36, in the leg, police said.
The victim was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in stable condition.
Man, 20, shot during robbery in Rosedale
ROSEDALE A 20-year-old man was in stable condition after being shot once in the abdomen as he struggled with a group of robbers in front of 245-15 133 Rd. Tuesday, police said.
The victim and another man, 26, were approached by men who removed money and credit cards from their pockets, police said.
The perpetrators fled in a blue 4-door car.
The victim was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital in stable condition.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
18-year-old Brooklyn man victim, suspect in Astoria
ASTORIA A Brooklyn man was charged with possession of crack cocaine after he was treated for a gunshot wound while walking in Astoria Friday, police said.
Richard Harras, 18, of 17-11 Fulton St. in Brooklyn, was walking on 8th Street and Astoria Boulevard when he was shot in the shoulder at about 11 p.m. Friday, police said.
After he was treated and released from Elmhurst Hospital, Harras was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, police said.
Police did not identify the shooter.
Man, 25, dies in suicide leap off BQE in Woodside: Police
WOODSIDE A man apparently committed suicide last Thursday by jumping off the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in Woodside, police said.
The victim, 25, whose name was not released, was discovered at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday at 67th Street and 43rd Avenue about 25 feet below the BQE, police said.
The medical examiner was to determine the cause of death.
Two charged with stabbing two others in Ozone Park
OZONE PARK Two Richmond Hill men were arrested Friday in Ozone Park for allegedly stabbing two others in a dispute, police said.
Mian Husain, 19, of 97-25 116th St., and Ezra Desanto, 21, of 104-46 124th St., were charged with assault for allegedly stabbing two other men, police said.
The victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Robber uses note to rob bank in Jackson Heights
JACKSON HEIGHTS A man passing a note to a teller robbed a bank in Jackson Heights Saturday morning, police said.
The man took $3,000 from the HSBC Bank at 76-27 37th Ave. at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The thief passed a note demanding the money from a bank teller, police said. Police did not disclose the contents of the note.
Man accused of slurs against Arab shop owner
MASPETH A delivery man was accused of making anti-ethnic remarks to the Arab owner of a Dunkin Donuts in Maspeth about 9 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Police were investigating the incident at the Dunkin Donuts at 61-03 Flushing Ave.
Man apparently kills self in Rego Park home: Police
REGO PARK A man was found dead of an apparent suicide inside a home in Rego Park Tuesday, police said.
The victim, 63, whose name was not released, was found in a Thornton Place home at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Anti-Arab slurs found on Elmhurst building
ELMHURST Anti-Arabic slurs were found written on the side of a building in Elmhurst Saturday morning, police said.
The slurs were discovered at about 2:30 a.m. at 55-01 92nd St., police said.
Police were investigating.
