Megaloudis and Milenovici to play Division I soccer

TimesLedger first-team All-Queens CHSAA soccer players Chris Megaloudis and Jiva Milenovici both signed national letters of intent recently. Megaloudis, Monsignor McClancy’s all-time leading scorer, will attend St. Peter’s College while Milenovici will play at Hofstra in the fall.

Megaloudis, who was also in the United States Under-16 National Player Pool and is in the regional Olympic Development Program, scored 80 goals in four years at McClancy and was one of the most dangerous players in the city.

“Chris is a forward that everybody wants and everybody needs,” said St. Peter’s coach Cesar Markovic. “He is a natural goal scorer who has proven his worth at the highest level of competition. We are very happy to have him at St. Peter’s College.”

At 6-foot, 175-pounds Milenovici is an imposing figure in the midfield and was one of the most dominant players in the air for Holy Cross. But the senior midfielder isn’t all brawn, he also has great ball control, deceiving quickness and is a very heady player.

Milenovici follows former Holy Cross standouts Shaun Higgins and Dimitrios Theodoropoulos to play for the Pride.
