North Shore nurse convicted of having sex on LIRR

An emergency room nurse at the North Shore University Hospital in Forest Hills was found guilty in a Hempstead, L.I. courtroom last Thursday of having three-way sex with his brother and his brother's wife while riding an early-morning Long Island Rail Road train, the Nassau County district attorney said.

Nurse Dennis Greene, 40, of Wantagh, faces up to 90 days in jail for public lewdness, which is a misdemeanor, said DA Denis Dillon.

According to a Nassau County court document, Greene was observed by passengers and train conductor Warren Beale having sex with his sister-in-law.

Sentencing for all three defendants was scheduled for May 9.

After sentencing, the Nassau County DA's office will notify the state Department of Education about Greene's conviction, said DA spokesman Rick Henshaw.

According to North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital spokesman Michelle Pinto, the state Department of Education could decide to revoke Greene's nursing license after being informed of his misdemeanor.

“At this point, there is no action from the hospital,” said Pinto. “The sequence of events is that the DA has to turn it over to the state DOE, and then the DOE would have to decide what if any disciplinary action would be taken.”

Greene's attorney, Michael Montesano, could not be reached for comment.

The nurse's brother, Lyle Greene, 41, and sister-in-law, Francine Greene, 40, both pleaded guilty to engaging in a public orgy on Sept. 21, 2002 in a lighted, eastbound train car that was occupied by 15 to 20 other people, said Dillon.

All three defendants were returning home after a night of heavy drinking in the city.

Despite defense attorney Montesano's claims that it was physically impossible for the trio to have positioned themselves in the manner described in the cramped triple-seat of an LIRR train, the jury found Dennis Greene to be guilty after only 20 minutes of deliberation, the New York Post said.
