OLS displayed a balanced and potent offensive attack with all 14 girls getting a hit. The offensive standouts for the game were Caileigh ORourke and Shannon Vetack, who had two hits apiece.
The Our Lady of the Snows intermediate boys baseball team raised its season record to 2-0 by defeating a very sound St. Thomas the Apostle team, 6-1. Frank Sadicario picked up his second win of the season by pitching five innings while allowing one hit, one unearned run and striking out 12.
Kevin Salcedo came on to pitch two scoreless innings and struck out four. Offensively, Snows continues to get contributions from everywhere in the lineup. The contributors this week were Ray Potestio, who doubled, singled and drove in two runs; Jeremy Hausdorf and Brian Kellehr, who singled and had RBIs; Brian Biscotti, who singled; and Frank Sadicario, who singled with an RBI.
The Snows team continues to play a strong defensive game behind solid pitching and has shown the knack for getting the big hit when it is needed. Next up is St. Sebastian in a doubleheader on Sunday, May 4.
