Bayside L.L.: Gemini Tanning falls to Mardene Construction, 8-5

Mardene Construction 8, Gemini Tanning 5. Joe Black had a double and two runs batted in for Mardene in the win. Pitcher Zachary Haskowitz threw two strong innings for Mardene, while Gemini was led by Jake Spade, who had a single and two RBIs in the loss.

Papazzio’s Restaurant 15, Monahan & Fitzgerald 9. In the final game of the season, Mike Kowpack had a home run and a double, and Zack Droblas had a triple and a single to lead Papazzio’s.

Brendon Cosgrove had two hits and was on base all four times as another catalyst for Papazzio’s in the win.

For Monahan & Fitzgerald, John Martinez and Alex Pecora had some timely hits, and Justin Beiner pitched well for the home team in defeat.

Minor Division

Window Wiz 13, Starlight Caterers 6. Jon Cioffi led the way with three hits, two RBIs and three runs scored to left Window Wiz to a victory in the team’s final game of the season. Tommy Vonortas scored the winning run sliding under the tag at home, while Dean Vasiliou kept the offense going with a walk, stolen base and scoring an insurance run. William Blum pitched four innings for the win with eight strikeouts, bringing his total to 98 for the season. Jonathan D’Angelo was also 3-for-3 with two runs scored and pitched the final two innings with six strikeouts for the save.

For Starlight Caterers, Tony Pritsos had some big hits with a double and a bases-clearing triple. Kevin Will pitched a great game and Patrick Jordan helped the defense with nice plays at second base.
