Children will learn the parts of plants that we can eat by taking a close look at how different fruits and vegetables like to grow. Children will learn about vegetables that can grow in small spaces while planting seeds in recycled containers that can be brought home.

Room to Bloom: Practicing techniques of thinning and transplanting

Fee: $10; $5 members

Children will learn about fruits and vegetables that are started indoors, how to prepare them for outdoor planting and how to transplant them into the garden. They will also learn which fruits and vegetables need the room to bloom by practicing thinning techniques in the garden.

Beauty in Bulbs: Planting vegetable and flower bulbs

Saturday, June 5, noon

Fee: $10; $5 members

Children will learn types of bulbs to plant for a beautiful summer garden. A mixture of flower and vegetable bulbs will be planted to demonstrate how, when, and where to plant to ensure beautiful color and style in your summer garden.

Saturday, June 12, noon

Fee: $10; $5 members

Many fruits and vegetables flourish during the hot summer months. Children will learn what to plant, when to plant, and how to plan and plant summer vegetables to ensure a hearty fall harvest.
