Salvador Patricio scored a career-high 50 points, including seven three-pointers, to lead the Bryant boys’ basketball team to a 76-48 non-league win over Hillcrest Saturday and then had 30 points and 10 assists for the Owls in a playoff-berth clinching 89-52 win over Aviation Monday.

And to think, the junior guard, who is averaging 29 points per game, nearly left Bryant last month to attend a prep school.

Ian Cassidy of Molloy set a New York State indoor record when he cleared 15-9 1/4 in the pole vault at the 10th annual Citibank Hispanic Games at the 168th street Armory Saturday. The previous record was 15-9 ... Danial Levent had 25 points, including his 1,000th career point, to lead the American Studies boys’ basketball team to a 66-57 win over Renaissance ... Byron Headley had 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead Newtown to a 71-42 win over Franklin K. Lane ... Sundiata Gaines averaged 27 points in three game for Archbishop Molloy this week, including a high of 33 in a win over St. Francis Prep ... Akeem Gooding scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds from Christ the King in a league win over Bishop Loughlin ... Bryant Dunston registered two double-double for St. John’s Prep this week, helping the team takeover over first place ... Tina Charles scored 30 points for Christ the King in a non-league win over New Hyde Park ... Meghan Sullivan scored 18 as St. Francis Prep trounced Bishop Kearney 65-35 ... Shanay Freeman had a game-high 29 points, including 7-of-7 from the foul line in the fourth quarter, to lead Townsend Harris to a come-from-behind 71-63 win at August Martin ... Stephen Ferguson and Keith Morrice each had a hat trick to lead the McClancy hockey team to a 10-3 win over Spellman.
