Police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted in a sexual assault and robbery on a Bronx rooftop late last month.

The incident occurred on December 29, at 5:39 p.m. on the rooftop of an Aqueduct Avenue when a suspect, described as an Hispanic male between the ages of 25 and 30, approached a 16-year-old girl from behind as she was about to enter the building.

At knifepoint, the suspect forced the teen to the roof where he sexually assaulted and robbed her of jewelry before fleeing the location on foot, according to police. The victim, who was not identified by police, was taken to North Central Bronx Hospital.

The 52nd Precinct is now conducting an investigation and released a detailed description they believe will aid them in making an arrest. The man is described to be of medium build, clean shaven, wearing a white baseball cap, light-colored jacket with a dark hooded sweatshirt underneath and baggy blue pants. In addition to a sketch, police also have video images of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect involved is being urged to step forward. Police say that no one should approach the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous. Women in the area are being asked to be more aware of their surroundings and residents are being asked to report suspicious behavior through 911.

Calls with information can be made to the 52nd Precinct at (718) 220-5811. Residents can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Crime Stoppers offers monetary rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of violent criminals. All call can remain anonymous.
