St. Andrews earned its first point of the season, playing St. Lukes to a scoreless draw Saturday at Throgs Neck Field in a CYO Rookie Division girls soccer match.
Aided by the strong defensive play of Lauren Velez and Elisabeth McKee, goalkeeper Juliet Mullan recorded her first shutout of the season. Forwards Jessica Rodriguez and Kristin Poptean led the St. Andrew's attack.
On Sunday, St. Andrews fell to St. Luke's, 1-0, in a game played at O'Connor Field. Forwards Maria Ferrone and Anya Cullen played strong games up front and midfielders Anais Rodriguez and Mary Kate McGee had solid efforts.
