ASTORIA — Police said they arrested an 18-year-old man after they spotted him driving his vehicle without a seat belt, and saw a child who was not buckled in.

The defendant, charged with forgery and driving without a seat belt, was pulled over on Astoria Boulevard after police saw him driving without wearing a seat belt, police said. There was also a child riding in the back seat who was not wearing a safety belt, police said. The defendant also allegedly produced a forged drivers license, police said.
