Man arrested for attack with pole in Astoria: Cops

ASTORIA — Police arrested a 52-year-old man last Thursday for allegedly striking another person in the face with a metal pole.

The incident took place outside Astoria Park near 21st Street and Hoyt Avenue North, police said. The unidentified man allegedly got into an argument with another person, who the authorities also did not identify, and became violent, according to police.

The perpetrator was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, police said.
