OAKLAND GARDENS — An argument between a group of teens and young adults in Oakland Gardens June 25 turned violent when one of the men was struck in the head by a blunt object and sent to a North Shore Hospital for brain surgery, the 111th Precinct said.
Adam Kahn, 18; Singh Simarjit, 20; Sami Sheeikh, 18; and Trishan Phingh, 18, were arrested and charged with assault, according to police.
The fight began at about 1:50 a.m. when the victim and another unidentified male, both in a car, got into a verbal dispute with several men on the sidewalks of the 64th Avenue block of 223rd Place in Oakland Gardens, police said.
The argument escalated when the victim and his companion got out of their vehicle, confronted the group on the sidewalk and one man from the group struck the victim in the head, police said.
A man from the group allegedly jumped into the car and drove away, police said. The man was charged with grand larceny auto, but the charge was later dismissed. The investigation was ongoing Tuesday.
