In an effort to keep our children safe from the most heinous sexual predators, Council Member James Vacca, Council Member Joseph Addabbo and Minority Leader James Oddo have submitted Intro 672, a bill forbidding Level III sex offenders who have targeted children in the past, from residing within 1,000 square feet of a school or park.

Currently, while some judges stipulate that convicted predators cannot reside near places where children congregate, there are no formal City regulations to that effect. Intro 672 would extend those restrictions to all high-risk sex offenders with victims under the age of 18, creating child safety zones around schools and parks.
