FOREST HILLS — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they said robbed an Austin Street bank last week.

The incident occurred at the Sovereign Bank branch at 72−44 Austin St. on Nov. 25 around 2 p.m., police said. A white male, described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, allegedly approached a teller with a note demanding money, according to authorities.

The teller obliged and the man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. Investigators said the suspect is around 35 years old and was wearing a red hooded jacket, sunglasses, white gloves and jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 1−800−577−TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
