Rabbi Henry Katz passed away in the afternoon of February 7, after fighting various health conditions for the previous five months. He was 80 years old.
Rabbi Katz was born in Romania and immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old. In 1952, he became a rabbi and had led the Throggs Neck Jewish Center, at 2918 Lafayette Avenue for the past 35 years.
