Driver throws coins out window: Brown

BELLEROSE — A 23-year-old Bellerose man was arrested on reckless endangerment charges after he is alleged to have cut off another driver and thrown coins out of his window at him, the Queens district attorney said.

Harkaran Singh, of 84-01 264th St. in Bellerose, was arraigned before Queens Criminal Court Judge Deborah Stevens Modica on charges of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and reckless driving, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

On May 2, the defendant is alleged to have cut in front of another driver at the intersection of Hillside Avenue and Little Neck Parkway in his gray BMW, the DA said. He then allegedly crossed over the double yellow lines and began throwing coins out his passenger side window at the other vehicle, causing that driver to swerve and nearly hit another car, Brown said.

The defendant is then alleged to have flailed his arms in an attempt to resist arrest, the DA said.
