MASPETH — A Brooklyn man was killed in an industrial accident at a recycling plant on Railroad Place in Maspeth last Thursday, police said.
Anibal Pilataxi, 21, of 237 Stanhope St., was working at Boro-Wide Recycling Corp. near Galasso Place at about 11:20 a.m. when a tractor trailer driven by a 35-year-old man began backing up into the building, police said.
The trailer pinned Pilataxi against another vehicle inside the garage. Responding officers and medical personnel found Pilataxi lying unresponsive on the ground and pronounced him dead at the scene.
No arrests were made and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
