No. 7 subway service between the Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street stations will be suspended from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, the MTA has announced.
Alternate service will be provided on the E, F, N, Q and S trains, as well as free shuttle buses, while the 7 will continue to operate as usual between Main Street and Queensboro Plaza, the MTA said.
The authority previously announced service will be suspended two weekends this summer to perform track, signal and infrastructure work in the Steinway Street Tube, which links Queens and Manhattan underneath the East River.
No. 7 train service from Queensboro Plaza to Times Square will also be suspended from 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 29 to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1.
Straphangers may choose to take the N or Q at the Times Square or Queensboro Plaza stations; or the E at the 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue, Court Square-23rd Street, 42nd Street-Port Authority or Lexington Avenue-53 Street stops. Free shuttle buses replace the 7 train at the Queensboro Plaza, Court Square, Hunters Point Avenue and the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue stations.
Also, due to track maintenance at the 103rd Street-Corona Plaza station, Main Street-bound 7 trains were running on the express track between the 74th Street-Broadway and Mets-Willets Point stations Friday morning. The MTA warned riders Friday morning to expect delays as a result of the ongoing work.
