Boro man caught with drugs, gun in home: DA

SOUTH JAMAICA — A South Jamaica man unsuccessfully tried to ditch a gun and bag full of drugs when he led police on a chase into his own house Sept. 13, according to a complaint from the Queens district attorney’s office.

Wayne Scott, 38, of 153-11 124th Ave., was walking down the middle of a two-way street near his home with the handle of a gun protruding from his waistband at around 6:15 p.m., the DA said.

A police officer who observed cars swerving out of the way approached Scott, who ran into the residence, according to the complaint.

On the way, Scott tossed a backpack onto the ground that contained bags of marijuana, the complaint said.

Police entered the residence, where they found a loaded revolver, more bags of marijuana and additional bags containing ecstasy pills, the DA said.

Scott was charged with possession of a weapon, a controlled substance and marijuana, the DA said.
