ELMHURST — A woman was arrested last week for allegedly shoplifting food from a supermarket, the Queens district attorney’s office said.
Elisa Colon, 46, of 95th Street in Elmhurst, was arraigned Feb. 13 on a petit larceny charge, according to the Queens DA’s office.
Earlier that afternoon, a worker at a Trade Fair supermarket on 37th Avenue observed Colon removing 20 units of Polly-O Mozzarella cheese from a shelf, placing it in a satchel before she walked out of the store without paying for the items, the criminal complaint said.
A police officer apprehended her outside the store and allegedly found the stolen goods, according to the criminal complaint.
