Rockaway Beach man charged with rape

ROCKAWAY BEACH — A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged in the rape of a woman in Rockaway Beach early Sunday, the NYPD said.

Police said Wednesday that Samuel Doctor, of Rockaway Beach, was charged with rape, criminal sexual act and sex abuse.

According to police, the 5-foot-10 black man approached a 64-year-old woman, forced her to the ground and raped her Sunday around 5:30 a.m. at the corner of Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Beach 91st Street.

The NYPD had released surveillance video depicting the suspect, who was described as wearing green pants, a dark T-shirt and a Miami Marlins baseball cap.
