LONG ISLAND CITY — Police said a young man was in stable condition at Cornell Hospital in Manhattan Sunday night after apparently jumping from the Queens side of the Queensborough Bridge, the New York Post reported.
The newspaper did not identify the 26-year-old man, but did say he was rescued by an NYPD harbor unit after leaping into the icy waters of the East River around 12:30 p.m.
The bridge was renamed the Ed Koch-Queensboro Bridge last year.
