OZONE PARK — The NYPD was investigating an Ozone Park crash, which left one man dead.
On Monday around 8:53 p.m., police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Cross Bay Boulevard and 149th Avenue within the confines of the 106th Precinct, the NYPD said.
Upon arrival, police said a man was traveling southbound on Cross Bay Boulevard in his 2008 BMW when he struck 59-year-old Francisco Camacho, who was crossing from the westbound side of the street. The driver fled from the scene, police said.
The NYPD said Camacho sustained serious head and body trauma and was pronounced dead on arrival by responding EMS officials. There was no criminality suspected, police said.
