CORONA — The arm and fingers of Jesus on a crucifix at St. Leo’s Parish, at 104-05 49th Ave. in Corona, were ripped off Thanksgiving night or Friday morning, Fox 5 News reported.
A church volunteer found the wood statue of Jesus broken and the arm in a flower bed at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Fox reported.
Surveillance footage did not catch the vandal, Fox reported.
The Rev. William Hoppe, of St. Leo’s, said he was not angry at the vandal.
“We’re praying for you. We hope if that you need help, we hope that you get it. Maybe we can help you with something,” Hoppe told Fox.
The church hopes to fix the 25-year-old crucifix soon, Fox reported.
