The Central Queens YM & YWHA, at 67-09 108th St. in Forest Hills, is a nonprofit community center offering services in Forest Hills ranging from educational to social and cultural events. The Y is now assisting those in need of healing from the deaths of loved ones over a light kosher breakfast and refreshments.
The Brunch Bunch Bereavement Group enables participants to share their losses and feelings. Participants also have the opportunity to meet other people who have been in similar situations. The program provides door-to-door transportation whenever possible. The facilitator is Lauren Fredston-Hermann, the director of the senior center at the Central Queens Y.
To receive more information about the program or schedule an initial appointment, call Fredston-Hermann at 718-268-5011, Ext. 621. You can also visit centralqueensy.org.
