East Elmhurst man goes missing: Police

East Elmhurst - Police were searching for 52-year-old John Clappis of East Elmhurst, who went missing within the confines of the 115 Precinct.

Clappis was last seen leaving his home on June 20 at 8 a.m,, according to the NYPD. He is described as 5-foot-9 and 270 pounds with brown eyes, is partially bald and has a mustache.

Those with information should contact NYPD’s Crimestoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting its website at or texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.
