A 21-year-old motorcycle rider was killed after he allegedly blew through a red light and slammed into the side of an MTA bus in Oakland Gardens early Tuesday, police said.

Mauricio Galdamez of Jamaica suffered serious trauma to his body during the collision at the intersection of Union Turnpike and Springfield Boulevard, the NYPD said. He was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to cops.

Emergency responders had been called to the intersection at about 1 a.m., and officers concluded that the bus had a green light to head north on Springfield Boulevard, when Galdamez allegedly ran a red light and struck the side of the bus, the NYPD said.

A worker at the Gulf gas station, whose co-worker witnessed the aftermath of the crash, said the motorcycle appeared destroyed and Galdamez’s helmet was impaled in the bus’s window.
