A man who was riding a jet ski in the waters of Jamaica Bay was rescued Thursday by the Fire Department after the jet ski overturned, officials said.

The FDNY received a report of a drowning just off the Cross Bay Bridge at about 1:55 p.m., a spokesman said. The victim, a man in his late 30s, had suffered minor trauma injuries and was taken to Jamaica Hospital, and the jet ski was turned upright and towed in to the shore.
