A man was found dead in the basement of a South Ozone Park home Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Police responded at about 4:48 a.m. to a 911 call of calls for help inside the home, at 120-46 131st St.

After entering the house, they found an unidentified man inside the basement. He had suffered trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds about the body, according to police.

Later in the day the area was quiet, although police had cordoned off the street with police tape on both ends of the block.

Officers at the scene said the case was still being investigated.

This is what happens when you let low-class ghetto savages do whatever the want in the Greater Jamaica Area. And then the residents will complain about "Stop and Frisk". Give me a break, the whole area is a shambles and has been a shambles for a long time due to poor leadership and allowing people to do whatever they want and no one says a damn thing.

Lived in the area for years. Saw it go from really bad with alot of drug dealers and murders back in early 1990s - 2000s)to a more serene and safer neighborhoold. Many folks have moved out and a new group moved in; this is likely why it's not as bad anymore. However, there will always be bad folks around to make our lives unsafe. Need I mention the "homeless shetler" on the Conduit filled with sex offenders? We came a long way only to have the City dump this shelter in our neighborhood which makes us feel unsafe once again.

I never said the murdered individual was low-class, I said this is what happens to a community when you let low-class savages run wild. A big difference, learn to read the comments before making a comment.
