ELMHURST — Police made an arrest Wednesday in the shooting death of 29-year-old Carolina Cobena of Elmhurst, NYPD officials said.

Rolando Perez, 33, of 87-36 52nd Ave., has been charged with murder and criminal use of a firearm, police said.

Cobena was discovered unconscious at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday with a gunshot wound to the head inside an apartment on 52nd Avenue near Justice Avenue, according to cops.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

“Two 9mm handguns have been recovered in the apartment,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told NY1. “The victim here is the mother of a 5-year-old child who was in the apartment, who was not injured.”
