Obituary: Vincent Ierardi, 88

Vincent Ierardi, an Oakland Gardens resident, died Jan. 28. He was 88.

Ierardi born Feb. 9, 1924, in Brooklyn and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran in the 751st Field Artillery in the European Theater from 1943-45. He lived in Oakland Gardens from 2005-13

He died at his home surrounded by family after a long illness. Ierardi was married to Bella Rizzotti Ierardi for 60 years.

Ierardi is survived by his three children, one grandson, one brother, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

A mass of the resurrection was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Manhasset, L.I., Jan. 31. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project are appreciated.
