A 66-year-old man was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer backing up in a Forest Hills Key Food parking lot at 10:17 a.m. Wednesday, the NYPD said.

The Police Department said officers believe the tractor-trailer began backing up after making deliveries at the grocery store near 64th Avenue and 108th Street and accidentally ran into Forest Hills resident Elliot Mintzer as he walked past.

The NYPD said Mintzer was declared dead at the scene.

Police said the truck driver remained at the scene and the investigation was ongoing.
