S. Ozone Park man dies in motorcyle crash

TimesLedger Newspapers

A 26-year-old South Ozone Park man died Friday evening after his motorcyle hit a street curb in Far Rockaway and then crashed into a wooden utility pole, the NYPD said.

The Police Department said officers found Marcus J. Joel, 26, of South Ozone Park, with severe head trauma near Seagirt Boulevard and Beach 13th Street at 6:08 p.m.

He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital and declared dead upon arrival, according to the NYPD.

The department said its preliminary investigation determined Joel was driving a 1999 Kawasaki east on Seagirt Boulevard when he drove into the curb and then struck the utility pole.
