Oakland Gardens fire claims 2 lives

Two people died when a suspicious fire ripped through the couple’s Oakland Gardens apartment around 6:31 a.m. last week gasoline and firefighters later found two containers of gasoline inside the residence, the Fire Department said. Comment

Use common sense when in public places, at home

It seems when we pump gasoline at gas stations, we have to worry about thieves running off with women’s pocketbooks and packages. Community Board 8 District Manager Marie Adam−Ovide reported that thieves position themselves at gasoline stations and, while women pump gasoline, slip up to the car and steal pocketbooks and packages left on car seats. One has to be alert. Comment

State police in upstate New York were investigating the death of a Flushing−native this week after he was found unresponsive following a party at an unauthorized fraternity, authorities said Monday. Comment
