Holy Cross tops boro’s best

A team from Queens did not bring home a title, but the borough produced some strong players. St. Francis Prep had one of its best seasons in recent years, winning the Catholic High School Football League AA-A division regular season crown. Holy Cross was among the top teams in the city. Beach Channel, which played through the aftermath of Sandy, was a competitive public school squad along with Campus Magnet and Flushing. Comment

Christmas was days away, but there were no visions of sugarplums dancing in the heads of Amani Tatum and her teammates. The only thing on the Stanners’ minds was the present of earning an important win over Bishop Ford. Comment

Archbishop Molloy’s thrilling comeback may have been more than the Stanners could handle. The emotion of Gabe Kilpatrick’s banked home three-pointer with two seconds left in regulation carried into overtime, but not in the way Molloy had hoped. Comment
