Police Blotter: Body parts found near Oakland Lake

BAYSIDE - What appeared to be a human skull and foot were discovered near Oakland Park in the vicinity of 223rd Street and 46th Avenue in Bayside around 5:04 p.m. Tuesday, Police Officer Theresa Farello said.

Farello said the body parts were sealed inside Tupperware containers that had been placed in a plastic tub with rope handles.

She said the incident remained under investigation.

Detectives were at the scene Tuesday night. The medical examiner had not issued a finding on the cause of death as of press time.
