The fifth annual Turn 2 Baseball Clinic, established by New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, will run Saturdays from May 11 to June 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Cunningham Parks Field No. 14, located at 73rd Ave., and Francis Lewis Blvd in Fresh Meadows.
No clinic will be held on May 25 (Memorial Day Weekend).
The clinics are designed to teach boys and girls ages 8-13 the fundamentals of baseball and emphasize the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. Participants gain self confidence and respect for their peers and coaches while exercising their bodies and minds.
Following the completion of the six-week series, the young athletes will be rewarded with a Turn 2 Kidfest at Van Cortlandt Park, Tuesday July 2.
