The group is looking for friendly people to become a core group of dedicated volunteers. The plan is to create a group that will enjoy working and socializing together, while helping to promote the orchestra and its mission to the community of Queens.

People who are interested in music and have some extra time to volunteer are welcomed. The QSO performs year-round in both indoor and outdoor settings, and works with some of the great artists of our time including superstar tenor Daniel Rodriguez on Feb. 14 and world-class violinist Cho-Liang Lin on March 28.

The group will look to the club for support in the following ways:

• Serve as ushers at concerts

• Pass out programs and collecting audience information at summer concerts

• Working a phone bank to encourage ticket sales

• Help distribute QSO information throughout the community

• Help QSO letter and packet distribution

In return, active volunteers will receive:

• 50 percent off of the full ticket price for QSO concerts

• Personal introductions to the QSO Music Director, musicians and guest artists

• Special invitations to the holiday party and all VIP receptions

• Special reduced ticket price for the annual QSO Gala

• Free subscription to Symphony Sound-Off, the QSO’s official newsletter

• Invitation to QSO Volunteer Club parties

• Free QSO T-shirt
