Snow way: Nor’easter disrupts hoops playoff schedule

Tuesday's PSAL Boys' 'A' games scheduled for the Bronx's Lehman College was postponed. The two games - No. 25 Bayside vs. No. 9 Wadleigh and top-seeded Lincoln vs. No. 16 Long Island City - will now be part of tripleheaders scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.The Lincoln vs. Long Island City game is now the last of three games at Hunter College in Manhattan to be played Wednesday. No. 10 Manhattan Center faces No. 26 Bryant at 4:30 p.m., No. 18 Springfield Gardens takes on second-seeded Frederick Douglas Academy at 6:15 p.m. and three-time defending champion Lincoln battles Long Island City at 8 p.m.On Thursday at Elmcor, No. 22 Curtis takes on sixth-seeded John F. Kennedy at 4:30 p.m., No. 3 Cardozo meets No. 14 Grady at 6:15 p.m. and Bayside faces Wadleigh at 8 p.m.The two PSAL Class 'A' girls second round playoff games scheduled for Tuesday (No. 10 Cardozo vs. seventh-seeded Canarsie and second-seeded Francis Lewis vs. No. 15 Boys & Girls) at Elmcor have also been moved.The Cardozo/Canarsie game was scheduled be the third game at Lehman College Wednesday and the Francis Lewis/Boys & Girls game was moved to the third and final game of the day at Lehman on Thursday.The CHSAA was also forced to juggle its playoff games because of Monday's snowstorm. The Class A semifinals (LaSalle vs. Mount St. Michael and Cardinal Hayes vs. St. John's Prep) scheduled for Tuesday at Mount St. Michael in the Bronx were just pushed back 24 hours.The Class AA intersectional quarterfinals scheduled for Tuesday at Christ the King (Bishop Loughlin vs. All Hallows and Rice vs. Holy Cross) were moved to Thursday at Molloy. Game times are still 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.The other quarterfinal games - Christ the King vs. St. Raymond's and Xaverian vs. Farrell - were unchanged and remained slated for Wednesday at St. Francis Prep, also at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.The first round of the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan Division I girls' basketball playoffs were slated to begin Tuesday at Molloy but the games (St. Francis Prep vs. Bishop Kearney at 5:45 p.m. and Mary Louis vs. Bishop Loughlin at 7:30 p.m.) were moved to Wednesday, also at Molloy.The Division II playoffs (Fontbonne Hall vs. St. John's Prep at 4 p.m., Stella Maris vs. St. Savior's at 5:45 p.m. and St. Edmund Prep vs. Nazareth at 7:30 p.m.) at Bishop Ford in Brooklyn were also moved to Wednesday at the same location.Two games in the CHSHL were forced to be moved, including Tuesday's St. Francis Prep vs. St. Peter's game at the Ice Hutch in Mount Vernon. That game has been rescheduled for Thursday at Murray Rink in Yonkers, as the first of three games.
